Mojkovac
Founded during the reign of Uros I Nemanjić 1242-1276. It is known from that period that silver money is being built in Brskovo, so this place becomes the center of the city of the same name, a mining and trading center with a caravan station between Kotor and Novo Brdo and the consulate of the Dubrovnik Republic.
It is said that the name Mojkovac wascreated by merging the word „my minted coins“ spoken by King Uros in the mine Brskovo. In the middle of the twentieth century Mojkovac was one of the major industrial centers of Montenegro.
Today, because of the great natural resources, agriculture and tourism have been identified as a new priority sectors for the development of Mojkovac. The River Tara, which has the second deepest canyon in the world protected by UNESCO, runs through Mojkovac.
